A relatively new concept that induces collagen/elastin production in your tissue and minimizes fine lines and acne scarring.
Our paramedical techniques include microneedling. If you’re unfamiliar with this method of skin enhancement, let us be the first to tell you, it is amazing. We use a microneedling device that houses tiny needles that puncture the top layers of skin. It is not an invasive procedure, the needles go just deep enough to stimulate the dermal layer that produces collagen. Successful candidates include those with acne scars, stretch marks, sun spots, and wrinkles. There is very little downtime and minimal side effects which might include redness, and dryness to the applied areas. This process can be repeated gradually as needed for additional new collagen, approximately every 3 months.
Image Skincare products are used both during the microneedling treatment as well as after with a mask that the client wears home. This mask is clear and soaks into the skin, leaving the tissue moist and soft.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are some of the applications for Microneedling Therapy?
- Wrinkle treatment: Fine lines and deeper wrinkles can be diminished.
- A full neck microneedling session can take years off the appearance of the age of a person.
- Indented scars: Decrease the depth of pitted, depressed, or shallow scars caused by acne, chicken pox, surgeries or trauma.
- Surgical Scars: Raised or hypertrophic scars can become smoother with microneedling treatments that flatten the elevated scar tissue.
- Scar Relaxation: Burns and accidents can create fibrous bands of scar tissue that can contract and create limited flexibility. Microneedling can break down the contracted tissue to increase mobility and flexibility.
- Great for men and women.
What are the benefits of Microneedling versus other methods such as laser treatments?
This procedure means fast healing and less downtime: Due to the precise control and minimal trauma, the healing is very rapid with a “downtime” of just a few days (3-5) vs. up to several weeks with more invasive and aggressive treatments. Makeup can be worn the day following your treatment.
Also, there are fewer side effects. This is due to the largely intact epidermis and controlled treatment areas meaning no thinning of the epidermis, heightened skin sensitivity and very little, if any, risk of infection, or allergic reaction.
It is okay to have multiple or ongoing treatments with this procedure as the skin thickens and strengthens over time versus thinning over time as with other processes. It can also be used in delicate areas such as under and around the eyes to treat “Crow’s Feet” lines, thin and crepe-like skin and can even help the appearance of dark circles.
What can you expect immediately after the treatment?
The areas treated with the Microneedling process will get slightly flaky for about 3-4 days. The initial few days of redness will then turn to light pink as new skin grows and it will then continue to fade.
How many treatments will you need?
In some cases, hypo-pigmented (white) scars can be recolored naturally using the Microneedling procedure.
Improvement may be seen as soon as a few weeks after a procedure. Deeper healing of the skin continues for several months as your skin restores and rebuilds its own collagen and elastin. Skin will continue to plump and tighten as the collagen is deposited.
Results can be enhanced and maintained when post-treatment skin products are used at home. Beautiful You will recommend at-home treatment products based on your specific needs. We carry a line of products containing necessary active ingredients for skin rejuvenation. Microneedling can be combined with other treatments found at local plastic surgeons’ offices such as Botox, injectable fillers and traditional cosmetic surgical procedures.
