Numbing agents are applied throughout every procedure to ensure your comfort, and the recovery time is often minimal.

When you come for your treatment, we start with a consultation by assessing your needs and wants, measuring the area, and sketching a pre-application plan. Once the plan is decided, we begin the numbing process if that is necessary. We can achieve all of this in one appointment so you only need to see us again if a fill or touch up is necessary.

Microblading

Microblading is one of the most popular recent advancements in permanent cosmetics. A series of thin flexible beveled needles are placed side-by-side in a device tip. This tip is then drawn through the skin creating a hair stroke of color. This soft hair stroke is used to build a full, natural brow, giving both men and women eyebrows that complement the rest of one’s features and gives aesthetic structure to the face.

Powder Brow

Powder brow is a technique designed to create eyebrows with soft powder effect, very similar to powder and or pencil makeup. This technique is ideal for people with oily or aged skin and lasts longer than microblading alone with less touch ups needed.

Whether looking for that dramatic flair or a lash enhancement, you’ll love not having to worry about applying daily makeup. And, if you want added color or intensity, you can still go over your permanent makeup with your favorite pencil color of choice!

Note: If you use an eyelash enhancer such as Latisse or Revitalash or a similar product, you will need to discontinue these products for at least three weeks before your eyeliner appointment. These products enhance blood flow to your lash line and cause the skin to thin, which stimulates lash growth. Unfortunately, these will cause excessive bleeding during permanent makeup application and ineffective pigment placement.

Soft filling in of the eyebrow that you have naturally been given, that time has slowly edged away. Uneven brows? We’ll get them leveled out so that the frames to the windows of your soul have their shape again.

Beautiful You specializes in the hair stroke (microblading) technique as well as in the traditional sculpted and shaped brow. We’ll measure, draw and make sure you’re good with shape and color before we proceed.

Eyebrow Color Correct and New Brow Color (90 minutes) starting at $500
Corrective color to take away the gray or pink brow left by a previous permanent makeup experience done elsewhere. You will then have a new color implanted into the brow after the correction is made. This is done in one appointment that lasts close to 2 hours.

Lip Blushing (90 min) starting at $575
Need some reshaping or definition to those beautiful lips of yours? Giving your lips a makeover, redefining the shape and adding the color of your youth that time has taken away is possible! Lips are different tissue than any other permanent cosmetic site. About 40% of women choose to come back within the first year for a color boost.

Note: If you have EVER had a cold sore, you will need to take a medication such as Zovirax, Valtrex or a similar medication before your procedure. This is to ensure that you don’t have a cold sore breakout due to the lip procedure. Your doctor can order this for you, usually with just a phone call.

Beauty Mark – $75 (Color boost for $25 within 3 months of original application and $50 after 3 months of original application)

Consultation (30 min) – $75
At Beautiful You, we schedule procedure appointments to allow plenty of time to first complete a thorough consultation with each client before any pigment is placed. This allows everything to be done same day. If you wish to schedule a consultation separately, the price will be $75 that day. That $75 will go towards the cost of your procedure if you schedule that appointment within three months of your consultation.

Scar Camouflage – starting at $250
This is to correct a scar matching it more correctly to the surrounding tissue. This would be for a scar approximately 2″ x 2″ in size. Frequently Asked Questions

Is it really permanent?

Permanent cosmetics procedures are considered permanent because color is implanted into the dermal layers of the skin and cannot be washed off. By permanent, it is implied that the pigment lasts for a few years and then may need retouching. The skin on our faces replaces itself every 30-days, so over time, the color will fade. This is a good thing because as we age, our colors soften and our preferences change. Over time your permanent cosmetics can change with you.

Am I too old for permanent cosmetics?

Most of our clients range from 30 years of age through 75 years old, with the majority being in their 50’s and 60’s. It is in these ages that women realize they have been wearing their makeup the same for years and years and they are tired of, or unable, for various reasons, to apply their makeup any longer. Permanent cosmetics are a wonderful solution for maintaining the finished look you want without the fuss of daily makeup application.

What if I am someone who likes to use different colors when I apply my makeup?

The goal of permanent cosmetics is to enhance what has naturally already been given you. For instance, if your eyelashes are a dark brown color, then applying a dark brown eyeliner with permanent cosmetics will enhance that lash line. Additional color can still be applied with conventional makeup if a more dramatic look is desired for a given occasion. This pertains to eyeliner, brows and the lips. There are dozens of permanent cosmetic colors available to choose from.

Is it painful?

Because there is a break in the skin, the application of permanent cosmetics can be slightly uncomfortable, particularly on the lips where the tissue has a lot of nerve endings. The skill level of the practitioner in applying the ideal combination of topical anesthetics is key to keeping the client comfortable throughout the procedure, regardless of the method used for permanent makeup application. In addition to the topical anesthetics, often people will take anti-anxiety or a pain reliever medication prescribed by their physician before their procedure. Most people are fine with just an over-the-counter pain reliever such as Aleve, Tylenol or Ibuprofen. Post-procedure, an ice pack can help to alleviate any pain and swelling that might occur. The technician performing your procedure will work with you during the procedure on deep breathing, an effective tool for relaxation and pain control.

How long does the procedure take?

The initial procedure can take anywhere up to 1.5 hours. This is largely due to the time it takes for the topical anesthetic to reach its maximum efficiency. Feel free to bring a book to read or to take a nap while you’re waiting for the anesthetic to take effect. Touch ups take approximately the same amount of time because we reapply over the same area. Note that heavy eyeliner application may require additional time and may incur additional cost.

Are permanent cosmetics safe?

Yes! Each individual tip is disposable and is never reused for a later procedure or patient but rather disposed of immediately after your procedure. A registered nurse trained in universal precautions and infection control is the Owner and Operator of Beautiful You. She is licensed and certified to apply permanent cosmetics in the State of Missouri. She also has several thousands of application experience in doing permanent cosmetics over a ten year span, with an average of 30 – 50 procedures per week. All Beautiful You technicians are trained directly under the owner, Sheila Bowen, RN, BSN, MA. Standards set by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are followed at Beautiful You. Gloves are worn on every client and changed as needed during the procedure. Documented allergic reactions to permanent cosmetic procedures are extremely rare.

Will my permanent eyeliner look just like when I use a pencil, powder or liquid eyeliner?

When you apply your pencil, powder or liquid eyeliner, you add texture to the surface of the skin. This in part enhances that lash line. Permanent makeup is implanted into the skin, and once healed, leaves a smooth surface just like your skin was before the pigments were placed there. If you apply eyeshadow, you may not be able to see the permanent liner to the degree you were used to when you used your pencil or liquid liner. Some clients use a damp Q-tip on the permanent liner after they’ve applied their foundation and their eyeshadow. This helps to make the permanent eyeliner more obvious. Permanent eyeliner is great to have as a base when you don’t have time to apply your regular makeup, for sports, for an always “finished” look, for traveling, for swimming or out on the boat or for constantly watering eyes.

What can I expect at Beautiful You Permanent Cosmetics?

Once you’ve expressed interest in Beautiful You Permanent Cosmetics, you will receive a confirmation email which will include pre-treatment instructions for your appointment, as well as a health questionnaire for you to print out and complete. Please read your pre-treatment instructions carefully, and bring the completed health questionnaire with you to your appointment.

At the time of your appointment, your licensed Beautiful You technician will work with you in determining color, line shape and intensity of application to be used in your procedure. We will work together until we get the exact color and shape that you want. A before photograph will be taken. Please feel free to wear your makeup in the way you like to wear it. Also, feel free to bring your favorite colored pencils in for matching, if you wish.

Comfort During Your Procedure Is A Top Priority.

A clean and private environment awaits you. You will lie down on a comfortable reclining chair with a knee bolster to keep your back in alignment. Blankets and pillows are available to keep you warm. Relaxing music is available to help make your experience a positive one.

Your permanent cosmetic professional will explain everything she is doing as it occurs during your procedure. She will also answer any questions you have along the way.

At the end of your procedure, an after photo will be taken. Your technician will review your after care instructions with you and answer any additional questions you may have. An aftercare ointment will be provided for your comfort to take home with you.
